Experience
I attended Northeastern University for my bachelor's degree in behavioral neuroscience. I'm currently performing clinical research at the University of Maryland. My academic background in science is strong, and I can help students learn all levels of organic chemistry, general chemistry, and biology. I can also help students prepare for the SAT, develop strong college admissions essays, and help with other writing needs. My tutoring experience includes helping college level and high school level students as an undergraduate. My students give me excellent feedback, as did my supervisors. Students appreciate the collaborative approach I bring to tutoring, and my supervisors noted my emphasis on helping students develop study and test taking skills. I like to set goals of my student's upfront and then go after them. I like to help students accomplish goals and steps, focusing on what we accomplish as we go. I believe that this helps students learn effectively and keeps some motivated and engaged. I enjoy the topics that I tutor, and it's rewarding to see students develop a love for learning and an interest in the subjects. The sciences can be difficult to learn, but I believe I have the ability to make concepts within science easier to understand. When I have some free time, I like to run, read, play ultimate Frisbee, and sing.
